Job Summary

Join the SHS Valley Traveler Float Pool as a dedicated Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse, providing essential staffing support across facilities in Corvallis, Albany, and Lebanon, Oregon. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work with diverse patient populations, primarily focusing on comprehensive care for mothers and newborns throughout the labor, delivery, and postpartum phases.

This position requires a high degree of adaptability and flexibility, as assignments will involve floating between various hospital locations. While a primary site may be prioritized for the majority of the contract, assignments are subject to change based on staffing needs. Ideal candidates are comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments and committed to delivering exceptional patient care across multiple settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert labor management, including assessment, intervention, and support for patients in various stages of labor.
• Deliver comprehensive care during the delivery process, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes for both mother and newborn.
• Perform continuous fetal monitoring, accurately interpreting findings and implementing appropriate interventions.
• Administer high-quality postpartum care for both mothers and newborns, addressing physical and emotional needs.
• Float to different hospital facilities within Corvallis, Albany, and Lebanon, Oregon, as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
• Utilize the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system for accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
• Travel between assigned points of care using a personal automobile.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of recent, acute care Labor & Delivery experience, including demonstrated proficiency in labor management, delivery care, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care of mother and newborn.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (required due to College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements for moderate complexity testing).
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Ability to travel between multiple facility locations in Corvallis, Albany, and Lebanon, Oregon, utilizing a personal automobile.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fetal Monitoring Certification.
• STABLE certification.

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
