Medical Assistant PositionMedical Assistants perform administrative and clinical duties under the direction of licensed healthcare providers.The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Review EHR and prepare patient records for office visitsMaintain patient flowMaintain exam rooms (cleanliness and supplies)Go over current medications with patient at each office visit and reconcile medication list EMRScan in all incoming records into patients EMR systemObtain vitals and other medical information from patient for office visit and enter information into EMRSchedule patients for follow up in office laboratory studiesSet up and assist providers with medical examinations/bone marrow biopsy procedureReturn patient phone callsInjections upon requestObtain Advanced Care Directive from patient and enter information in EMR systemObtain Plan of Care for pain from patient and enter information in EMR systemObtain via venipuncture and process CBC'S, CMP, PT/INRS and glucose monitoring as ordered by physician and enter information in EMR systemPerform and/or assist with EKG'STriage patients in person and on the telephoneAnswer telephone calls and messages within the same dayPlace reminder calls to all patients being seen by providers the next day (make sure this gets done prior to 4pm each day)Other tasks as requested by managementQualification/Requirement:Ability to apply a common sense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written and/or oral instructions.Ability to deal with problems involving occasional, last-minute changes in generally standardized situations.Education/Training/Experience:Medical Assistant CertificationPhysical Demands and Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
