Job Title: Credit Underwriting /Direct Lender Financing (DLF) Asset Approval Analyst Location: New York, NY 10036 Salary Range: $ 100000- $ 125000/Year Duration: Full-Time Perm Role Position Summary The Direct Lender Financing (DLF) Asset Approval Team underwrites the private credit loans that serve as collateral in asset-based lending (ABL) facilities extended to leading private credit managers. The team reviews and approves the assets pledged into a Brokerage warehouse facility before they receive borrowing base credit and monitors those assets on an ongoing basis for credit events that affect their value. This role offers direct exposure to institutional clients and hands-on involvement in credit underwriting and portfolio monitoring. The analyst will join a front-office, client-facing role driving asset approvals and setting marks on focus credits across the DLF private credit portfolio. Key Responsibilities Collateral underwriting for ABL facilities: Underwrite the private credit loans that serve as collateral in asset-based lending facilities to leading private credit managers, assessing borrower fundamentals and eligibility against facility-specific criteria for new loan approvals. Client engagement: Act as a point of contact for clients across a high volume of recurring interactions — new asset approvals, valuation updates, financial reporting follow-ups, and borrowing base reviews — ensuring timely, high-touch service. Research & thematic views: Develop single-name analytical underwriting skills and contribute to subsector research and manager comparisons to build coherent views on the private credit market. Portfolio management & risk monitoring: Proactively identify and evaluate portfolio risk drivers and credit events that impact asset valuations and borrowing base eligibility, including confirming structural asset revaluation triggers through financial statement review, obligor reporting, and market surveillance. AI automation & research expansion: Drive initiatives central to a key firm focus — building and deploying AI-driven automation across the approval and portfolio management workflows, and expanding the team's research capabilities to enable deeper, faster, and more consistent name-level and portfolio analysis. Cross-functional risk partnership: Partner closely with risk teams on new deals and portfolio management, supporting the review, approval, and ongoing oversight of pledged collateral. Preferred Background 1–3 years of experience in a role with strong corporate-finance training — such as valuation advisory, leveraged finance/credit analysis, transaction advisory, or a comparable credit or corporate-finance function. Background involving hands-on work reading and analysing corporate financial statements. Understanding of, or strong interest in, private credit transactions and credit documentation. Strong analytical and research orientation, attention to detail, and comfort managing multiple client deliverables. Interest in a front-office role with direct client interaction. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field; progress toward the CFA is a plus.
