Sales Representative
EmblemHealth is seeking a Sales Representative to join our team. This position involves presenting, following up, and selling Individual Medicaid, Essential Plan, QHP, and CHP products on a direct sales basis. The role requires assisting and enrolling individuals by completing appropriate application forms, obtaining required documentation for enrollment, and meeting necessary enrollment targets.
Key responsibilities include conducting home visits and other appointments to complete applications and obtain all required documentation. The candidate must develop and maintain an understanding of health care products related to sales responsibilities, successfully complete periodic certification and testing to maintain knowledge levels established by regulations.
The Sales Representative will maintain appointments, develop community marketing sites, establish relationships with community-based organizations, participate in health-related activities and special events, create self-generated leads, and provide services to walk-ins. They will obtain feedback from referral sources and prospective enrollees, stimulate word-of-mouth referrals from participants, prospects, and their families, and utilize automated tools to perform individual enrollment duties.
The role also involves referring existing members up for recertification to the Retention Specialist when applicable, performing recertification activities when necessary, functioning as a liaison between all EmblemHealth departments to help identify and capture prospect's problems or concerns, assisting members with selecting a Primary Care Physician (PCP) using the provider directory, and presenting EmblemHealth insurance products and benefit plans to community groups, small businesses, and other prospective subscribers.
The Sales Representative will develop and execute a sales plan focusing on the growth of individual products in the assigned neighborhood, maintaining and growing a book of enrollments. Enrollment activities include on-site coverage at hospitals, provider offices, City agencies, community business partners, and Community Based Organizations (CBO's). All activities will be entered into the Salesforce tool.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, four years of relevant sales experience preferred, a driver's license and automobile with appropriate coverage required for territories Long Island, Staten Island, Westchester, etc. Travel in the New York metropolitan area is required, as is the ability to work nights and weekends as required. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, the ability to work independently, excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written, the ability to develop strong relationships and influences in the community, the ability to input and update data in a database system, the ability to work independently and produce self-generated leads, and the ability to multi-task are also required. Successful completion of annual product training and testing to maintain regulatory certification is necessary.
