Forward Deployed Product Manager

As a Forward Deployed Product Manager, you take a customer from the first call to a live agent. You learn how a customer's team works today, turn that into a clear spec for an agent, commit to a go-live date and get there. You work hand in hand with our engineers, and you bring what you learn in the field back into the product. Once user acceptance is signed off, you run the launch jointly with a Customer Success Manager, hand them the account, and stay on call for anything the agent needs. What you'll do Scope new agents: understand and map the customer's current workflow, systems and edge cases Write specs clear enough that engineers can build from them and customers can sign off on them Plan and deliver go-lives: own the project plan, integrations, testing, user acceptance and launch date Lead the customer relationship through user acceptance, then run launch jointly with the Customer Success Manager and hand off the account Turn patterns across deployments into product requirements and reusable agent templates Scope the expansion opportunities your Customer Success Managers bring you What we're looking for Experience in product management, implementation, deployment or solutions consulting at a B2B software company, or in operations at a carrier, broker or 3PL. You're skilled at turning messy customer requests into clear, scoped requirements, and you're comfortable pushing back or saying 'not yet' while keeping the customer bought in. You earn trust quickly by listening first, asking sharp questions, and showing customers you understand their operation before proposing a solution. A track record of owning projects with external stakeholders and delivering on committed dates. Experience building or deploying AI or automation products. A point of view on AI: where it works today, where it falls short, and how that should shape what we build. Comfort taking apart an operational workflow and writing it up clearly enough that engineers can build from it and customers can sign off on it. Strong technical fluency: you can read an API error, test a credential, work through a spreadsheet of records and debug an integration with a customer's IT lead. Product judgment: you can tell a one-off customer request from a feature the product needs. The habit of checking the output yourself rather than assuming it is right. Nice to have Knowledge of trucking and logistics operations: dispatch, load tendering, appointment scheduling, driver qualification files, ELD and HOS compliance, PODs or freight billing. Hands-on experience with McLeod, Oracle OTM, Samsara, Tenstreet or similar systems. Experience completing customer security reviews or vendor risk questionnaires.
