Senior Coordinator Center for Student and Community Engagement Job Summary Work to enhance the overall educational experience of students by fostering learning and leadership opportunities, providing a teamwork approach in support of the activities program and assisting with the coordination and the advisement of Student Affairs programs. Along with the other staff members, there will be principal areas of responsibility for each position described in the following section. Salary Information In compliance with New York’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $50,000 - $54,000. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. An annual base salary higher than the range may be warranted in circumstances where a candidate has demonstrable equivalent prior higher education experience at another University. REPORTS TO: Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs Responsibilities & Duties Oversee First Year and Transfer student engagement including new student orientation, January orientation and ongoing programming efforts throughout the year. Assist with the implementation of key first-year experiences in conjunction with campus partners including living learning communities and freshmen seminar activities. Lead the recruitment, training and supervision of student staff responsible for aiding the transition to college including Peer Assistant Leaders and Commuter Assistants. Serve as the project manager for the Orientation Weekend program, overseeing its execution. Develop a comprehensive parent and family program including ongoing communications, programming and collaboration with the Parent and Families Association. Serve as the co-advisor of the Student Government Association. Serve as the primary advisor of the Student Activities Board. Develop a schedule of evening and weekend programs in conjunction with camps partners. Execute large-scale campus traditions and student programs including Spirit Weekend, Spring Concert and the Winter Lighting Ceremony. Lead efforts designed to support commuter student life including advising the Commuter Student Organization. Serve as part of a team which provides professional coverage for late night and weekend programs as needed. Assist with the planning and execution division-wide initiatives including Spirit Weekend, Relay for Life, Take Back the Night and other signature programs. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Knowledge and experience with student development. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Excellent written and communication skills. Experience and sensitivity in working with diverse groups. Ability to serve as a role model and mentor for students and staff.
