Information Reporting Payables Analyst

What You Can Expect In This Role Complete the process necessary to file 1099‑MISC according to IRS regulations and company procedures. File Puerto Rico tax forms with Hacienda and assist with withholding deposits. Recognize, research and recommend resolution to tax issues. Enforce internal controls ensuring invoices, expense reports and credit card statements are properly coded, approved, and adhere to corporate guidelines. Ensure compliance with sales/use tax regulations and IRS vendor documentation requirements. Work with all SFG member company teams across locations while maintaining strict confidentiality. What You'll Do In This Role Perform procedures to fulfill IRS requirements for 1099‑MISC processing, including mandatory withholding, year‑end printing, mailing, and transmission of forms, and validate documentation. Run tax reporting jobs for Accounts Payable to validate information and prepare year‑end documents. Conduct Puerto Rico Hacienda processing for 480.6A, 480.6B and 480.7C, including withholding and year‑end compliance. Communicate with regulatory bodies regarding notifications and inquiries related to the forms. Apply critical thinking to decipher IRS code and take appropriate actions. Execute B‑Notice procedures, resolve TIN mismatches and missing TIN situations, and implement backup withholding. Maintain proper reporting information, analyze 1099‑MISC forms, and compile Blue Book requirements. Use systems that feed the Company Tax System, including LifeCom, Agency, PolicyLink, PPlus, Accounts Payable and RPS Disbursements, to troubleshoot and resolve problems. Assist with year‑end form completion and federal/state withholding deposits within statutory deadlines. Design and execute internal audits of sales/use tax procedures, ensuring manual processes are double‑checked. Compile and file sales/use tax returns in appropriate states, meeting due dates. Ensure invoices, expense reports and credit card statements are coded, discounts obtained and compliance with the Accountable Plan. Analyze vendor information for proper documentation and coding, and evaluate payment compliance with state regulations. Train new employees and technicians for the Treasury Operations Document Specialist position. Assist with employee travel profile set‑up and traveler queries while enforcing the company travel policy. Establish and execute project test plans and maintain documentation. Provide consultative support regarding travel policy and credit card processing. Demonstrate collaborative team skills within Corporate Accounting and maintain a positive work environment. What We're Looking For Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related business field (Preferred). Experience in tax reporting (Preferred). Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook (Required); 10‑Key skills (Preferred). High level analytical and critical thinking skills. Excellent time‑management skills to meet strict regulatory due dates. Strong organizational and mathematical skills. Ability to interact with all management levels with tact and confidence. Professionalism, motivation and intellectual curiosity. Detail oriented. Mainframe experience helpful for accounts payable, employment taxes, payroll or IRS reporting procedures. Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with senior leaders and external auditors. Other Requirements Credit and criminal background check required under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. FINRA regulations require fingerprinting for this position; management reserves right to approve suitability. Salary Range Information USD $40,223.00 – USD $67,039.00 per year.
