Food Service Head Cook Job ID: 1168 Date Posted: 6/15/2026 Location: District-wide Date Available: 08/06/2026 Salary Grade: $20.73 – $22.32 per hour Work Year: 154 Days Status: Nonexempt Department: Food Service Reports To: Director of Food Service We are filling positions at Clear Creek Middle School/High School and King Murphy Mountain School. Pre‑Employment Requirement The successful candidate will be required to complete fingerprinting through an approved fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation within 48 hours of offer acceptance. Position Summary This position is responsible for providing the daily preparation of food for the school lunch program. The Food Service Head Cook prepares and serves Clear Creek School District meals, including breakfast and lunch (hot and cold) in accordance with food and safety standards. The Food Service Head Cook develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs all food preparation activities, including anticipating needs, cooking and baking. Prepares food between lunch periods as needed. Operates computer and cash box. Maintains sanitary conditions of kitchen and other areas. Enters grocery orders as needed. Makes routine decisions in the absence of the Director of Food Service. Accepts deliveries and stores incoming food. Maintains organization of food storage room. Assists Director of Food Service in inventory process. Performs other duties as requested. Education and Training High School Diploma/GED required. Experience One (1) to three (3) years in school lunch program or related experience. Knowledge, Experience and Other Qualifications Knowledge of large‑volume cooking and commercial food preparation equipment required. Expectations Is flexible. Has the ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and co‑workers. Has the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Has the ability to perform responsibilities without the necessity of close supervision. Has the ability to effectively communicate with the school and school district community, as well as the public at large. Has the ability to meet attendance standards and work the hours necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Maintains a generally positive attitude. Observes all district policies and procedures. Certificates, Licenses and Registrations None required. Work Environment While performing these job duties, the employee may be exposed to noise and temperature extremes. Physical Requirements Frequent lifting up to fifty (50) pounds. Repetitive bending, reaching, pulling with prolonged standing and walking. Eye/hand coordination for register and computer operation. Visual concentration on equipment. Supervisory Duties May direct the work of others.
