Java Engineer

Agility Partners is seeking a qualified Senior Java Backend Engineer to fill an open position with one of our clients in the financial services industry. This is an exciting opportunity to work on modern, cloud-based backend systems supporting high-impact banking and payments solutions while operating with a high degree of autonomy. The role offers exposure to containerization, microservices, and large-scale enterprise platforms, with strong potential for contract extension based on performance. In this role, you will design, build, and modernize backend applications that solve complex analytical and business problems. You’ll collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions, contribute to reusable frameworks, and help drive best practices around containerization and cloud-native development. This is a senior-level position ideal for an engineer who thrives in ownership-driven environments. What You’ll Be Responsible For Designing, developing, testing, and supporting Java-based backend applications using Spring and Spring Boot Implementing scalable microservices and containerized solutions using Docker and Kubernetes Collaborating with business and IT stakeholders to deliver reusable components, frameworks, and libraries Automating build, test, and deployment processes while supporting data-driven solutions The Ideal Candidate Holds a technical degree or equivalent hands-on professional experience Has strong expertise in Java, Spring, and Spring Boot Demonstrates working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures Has experience with AWS Is familiar with API management platforms (Backbase experience is a plus) Brings experience in banking, payments, or money transfer systems (preferred, not required) Operates independently with strong problem-solving skills and senior-level ownership Reasons to Love It Opportunity to work on modern backend and cloud-native technologies High level of autonomy and trust expected of a senior engineer Exposure to impactful financial services and payment platforms #J-18808-Ljbffr Agility Partners
