Occupational Therapist - Acute Care

This role involves providing comprehensive occupational therapy services to patients in an acute care setting, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation. Key Responsibilities Include Conducting evaluations, reviewing historical data, performing assessments, and explaining findings to patients and families, involving them in goal setting. Implementing treatment protocols based on evaluation results and patient presentation, collaborating with healthcare professionals as needed. Adjusting care plans according to patient condition changes, documenting care activities accurately, and managing discharge planning and follow-up. Managing time effectively to meet productivity standards, demonstrating flexibility, empathy, and professionalism to ensure patient access to care. Engaging in ongoing professional development, mentoring students, and supporting new staff and volunteers. Qualifications Include Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Licensure in Maryland, DC, and/or Virginia as required.
