Benefits and Perks Benefits from Day One Career Development Whole Person Wellbeing Resources Mental Health Resources and Support Shift Monday‑Friday, Full‑time, 8:00am‑5:00pm Job Location Altamonte Springs, FL Role Description The Physician Informatics Advocate Intermediate has an extensive understanding of healthcare applications in use at AdventHealth, the ability to analyze and understand business problems, and the knowledge to make solution recommendations that meet the organizational goals of maintaining clinical and business systems. They are dedicated to facilitating a secure, effective, integrated electronic medical record system that continually focuses on improving outcomes, reduces cost, increases efficiency, and enhances user experiences. The Advocate works independently on moderate‑complexity projects, identifies ways that EMR technology improves workflow efficiency and successfully engages in multiple initiatives simultaneously. Activities include analysis, design, implementation, optimization, application support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. They use clinical practice knowledge and the AdventHealth performance improvement process to achieve goals, mentor less experienced team members, customize order sets, documentation and views, build macros and auto‑text within the EMR, provide 24‑hr on‑call support for physicians and staff, research, communicate, resolve and escalates issues, execute change‑management strategy, communicate project status to leadership and stakeholders, and maintain respectful relationships with all users. Value You Will Bring to the Team Serves as a facility provider resource and role model in the use of clinical information systems. Works with providers during care delivery to assess functionality, impact on workflow, analyze user needs, and document requests. Analyzes requirements to propose effective solutions and identify opportunities for improvement and automation. Researches, validates, and logs provider EMR enhancement requests, discusses recommended solutions with provider and operational teams, and obtains operational design approval. Conducts multiple annual information technology outreach touch points with medical staff members, sharing application tips and guiding providers to best practices. Communicates modifications made to the application through collateral and personal contact with providers. Assists customers with the customization of the application using tools within the electronic health record foundation. Engages in daily rounding in the acute setting with active engagement with providers to proactively recognize and resolve issues. Provides education on new applications or functionality, conducts provider orientations, train‑the‑trainer sessions, and other training as needed. Assists with executing change‑management strategies to enable smooth implementation of new application changes and enhancements. Provides go‑live support and post‑go‑live optimization at local sites and other facilities, including readiness to work various shifts. Develops, implements, maintains, and optimizes health information technology training materials for providers based on current clinical practice and workflow. Other duties as assigned. Expertise and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (required). Minimum of five years of combined clinical and informatics experience. Advanced clinical knowledge of current healthcare practice and provider workflow (CPOE and documentation) with conceptual and practical understanding of various training techniques for users with various learning styles. Industry experience with electronic medical records. Expert conflict‑management skills. Written and oral communication skills, professional and following defined escalation process. Accountability for realization of goals and defined metrics. Methodical analysis and evaluation of business problems, defining challenges, identifying alternatives, and making timely decisions. Understanding of own strengths and development needs, learning from experience, and ownership of personal and professional development. Creates a positive, service‑oriented environment that values individual perspectives while driving toward common goals; assists teammates, leadership and providers to achieve outcomes. Basic competency in Microsoft Office Applications. Registered Nurse (RN) required. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree preferred.
