Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation. The unit will accept first-time travelers with Epic experience. Locals are accepted. Skills required include IV Start and Telemetry. ACLS certification, charge nurse experience, and Level I trauma experience are preferred. Expect a patient ratio of 5-6:1, which can flex up to 7:1 in extreme cases. Float requirements to other medical-surgical units may occur based on staffing needs. Every other weekend requirement is mandatory. If a nurse calls out on a weekend, they will be required to make up that time on a weekend. The average daily census on the unit is 37 patients, with a total of 39 beds. Patient population includes orthopedic, neuro spine, medical-surgical, and post-surgical patients. All patients diagnosed with Covid who do not require ICU care will be treated in their respective units. This is a fast-paced unit requiring nurses who can effectively manage patient pain. Scheduling options may be available for consistent block scheduling. No holiday RTO can be approved. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting.
