Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC required Must-Have: - General Emergency Department experience - Cardiac monitoring skills - IV therapy and phlebotomy skills - Pediatric and psychiatric case experience - Shock and trauma case skills Description: Position for an Emergency Department Registered Nurse. Shift available is 12 hours during the night. The average daily census is approximately 120 patients. The department has a total of 32 beds. Patient ratios are set at 1:4 for all shifts. Minimum of 2 years of experience is required. First-time travelers are accepted. Weekend work is expected as required. No on-call duty is required for this position. Floating within the facility may be needed to meet patient care requirements. The facility is a Level II Trauma Center. Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response is necessary. Skills in managing dysrhythmias and performing 12-lead EKGs must be demonstrated. IV therapy and phlebotomy experience is required for blood product administration. Candidates should possess knowledge in administering emergency medications and procedural sedation. Experience in managing acute cases such as stroke, trauma, and psychiatric emergencies is essential. Understanding of respiratory care, including intubation and ventilator management, is required. All candidates must have experience with triage and isolation precautions. Familiarity with charting systems is preferred. The department supports a range of age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, and adults. Interdisciplinary support includes services such as physical therapy and social services. Candidates must be able to work in a high-paced environment, demonstrating excellent clinical judgment. Compliance with required certifications and skill sets is essential for consideration.
