RN Blood Cancer PRN Seasonal Nights

Position Details Seasonal for Nights Rate: $55/HR Contract runs from 9/20/26-4/3/27 Minimum of 72 hours a pay period have to be worked. Job Summary Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Texas Nursing Practice Act, with emphasis on the nursing process and outcomes for oncology patients, particularly those with blood cancers and related disorders. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position. Current RN license in the State of Texas or a compact license. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification. Effective 10/01/23, American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS required within six months of hire or transfer. Effective 10/01/23, ONS Chemotherapy biotherapy certificate course required within 60 days of hire or transfer. Program Requirements All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period. Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need. Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4‑week schedule period. During the course of the 32‑week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee). Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call‑off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital. Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND or D2/ECD). Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation. Current FT/PT & PRN employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2026–27 with the exception of RNs that participated in the Seasonal program in the previous year. Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program. Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.
