Datacenter Technician

We are hiring Datacenter Field Operations Technicians to support a leading hyperscale data centre environment in New Albany, Ohio. This is a hands-on onsite role focused on rack & stack, fiber/copper cabling, physical-layer troubleshooting, hardware installation, break/fix support, and preventive maintenance in a 24x7 data centre environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform rack installation, cabling, and hardware deployment
• Troubleshoot Layer 1 network and connectivity issues
• Conduct OTDR, fibre testing, loopback, and cable validation
• Replace faulty optics, switches, cables, and hardware components
• Support rack turn-up, decommissioning, and maintenance activities
• Follow ESD, PPE, and safety compliance procedures
• Update tickets and maintenance activities in tracking systems
Required Skills
• Experience with copper & fibre cabling (Cat6A, OM4, OS2, MPO/MTP)
• Hands-on experience with OTDR, VFL, power meters, and cable testers
• Knowledge of rack & stack, cable management, and hardware installation
• Experience troubleshooting physical-layer network issues
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and data centre environments
Experience Required
• 6 years of experience in data centre operations, telecom, or network infrastructure
• Experience in hyperscale or enterprise data centre environments preferred
Preferred Qualifications
• BICSI or OSHA certification preferred
• Experience with liquid cooling systems and DCIM tools is a plus
Shift Details
• 24×7 rotational shifts (Day / Swing / Night)
• Onsite role only — no remote option
• Candidates must be comfortable with shift-based work and on-call support
