Industrial Maintenance Technician (Cedar Rapids and Iowa City)

What You'll Do

• Install and maintain advanced manufacturing equipment, including extrusion, stretch, and injection blow molding machines; packaging systems and automated palletizers.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair issues across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Complete equipment installations, layouts, and upgrades.
• Modify equipment to improve performance, reliability, and safety.
• Support facility maintenance as needed.
• Accurately document repairs, maintenance, and modifications.
• Train and support operators and fellow technicians.
• Partner with production teams to minimize downtime and drive improvements.
• Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to a team-oriented, "help wherever needed" environment.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience OR Associate degree (AA) in Industrial Maintenance + 1+ year hands-on experience.
• Experience in at least one of the following: mechanical systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics.
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for industrial equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to safety in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work a 3rd shift rotating schedule (12-hour shifts).

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field.
• Experience with blow molding (extrusion, stretch, injection); plastics, bottling, or similar manufacturing environments; automated packaging systems and palletizers.
• Experience training or mentoring others.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and proactive approach.

Job Type & Location: This is a contract to hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
