A Genuine Veterinary Ownership Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished, highly motivated veterinarian to become an equity partner and owner of a new veterinary hospital in Westlake Village.

This is not a corporate veterinary group, a private-equity-backed organization, or a nominal “partnership” position. This is a small, privately owned operation offering you genuine equity ownership, substantial profit sharing, and a central role in shaping the hospital.

The hospital will be designed and equipped with the capability to provide urgent care and manage complex, same-day cases. However, it does not have to operate primarily—or exclusively—as an urgent care practice. As an owner, you will have substantial freedom to determine the hospital’s clinical model and future direction.

It may become a general practice, an urgent care facility, a combination of the two, or develop another focus reflecting your clinical interests, strengths, and vision.

You will be expected to work at least 40 hours per week and take an active clinical and leadership role in building the practice. In return, you will receive comprehensive business, administrative, and operational support, along with considerable freedom to shape the hospital’s medicine, workflow, team, culture, and growth.

In both a legal and practical sense, this will be your hospital.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Significant experience in small-animal general practice
• A proven record of clinical performance, reliability, and professional success
• The ability and clinical judgment to manage a busy and varied caseload
• Strong surgical skills
• Strong emergency and urgent care capabilities
• A history of strong production and the ability to build lasting client relationships
• An entrepreneurial mindset and a genuine desire to become a practice owner
• The drive and availability to work at least 40 hours per week and take an active role in growing the hospital
• Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills
• A commitment to high-quality medicine and outstanding client service
• A California veterinary license, or eligibility to obtain one

Candidates who have completed a small-animal rotating internship or have meaningful emergency medicine experience will be strongly favored. However, neither is an absolute requirement.

An excellent general practitioner with strong surgical and emergency skills, sound clinical judgment, a proven professional record, and the desire to build and lead a hospital will also be seriously considered.

As an owner, you will have a meaningful voice in decisions involving:

• The balance between general practice, urgent care, and other areas of clinical focus
• Clinical protocols and standards of care
• Hospital hours, scheduling, and workflow
• Staffing, hiring, and team development
• Medical equipment and services offered
• Client experience and hospital culture
• Marketing, community involvement, and practice growth
• The hospital’s long-term direction and potential expansion

The practice will provide the foundation, resources, and comprehensive operational support. You will have the authority and independence to help determine what the hospital ultimately becomes.

Timing

The hospital is expected to begin operations in January 2027. We would like to identify our veterinarian partner well in advance so you can participate in planning, hiring, clinical decisions, and preparation for opening.
