Project Manager, Commercial Construction

MBG is recruiting Project Managers to oversee ground‑up construction projects across multifamily, hospitality, senior living, and student housing in St. Louis and the Midwest. Responsibilities Safety, Risk & Quality Leadership: Implement field safety expectations and reporting; identify and manage project risks early through strong planning and communication; oversee quality assurance and issue recognition. Scope, Documentation & Project Controls: Maintain a full understanding of drawings, specifications, and project scope; drive RFIs, submittals, clarifications, and change documentation; manage documentation workflows with precision. Trade Partner Procurement & Buyout: Solicit bids, evaluate subcontractors, and negotiate scope and pricing; assemble cost estimates and identify value opportunities; execute subcontractor buyout and contract drafting. Schedule, Milestones & Team Coordination: Develop and manage project schedules; track milestones and sequencing; partner with superintendents and lead meetings. Financial Management & Client Partnership: Manage forecasting, billing, cash flow, and approvals; protect project profitability and maintain client relationships; oversee change management. Closeout & Handover: Lead punch‑list, O&M documentation, and training; ensure first‑pass acceptance of deliverables. Qualifications At least three years of ground‑up general‑contractor experience. Related degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Comfortable interpreting construction documents, writing clear correspondence, and communicating confidently with owners, design teams, trade partners, and field teams. Strong financial understanding—forecasting, cost‑to‑complete, billing, and profitability protection. Proficiency with Microsoft Project and the Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with Procore workflows and financial/project‑management concepts is a plus. OSHA 30‑hour and First Aid/CPR/AED preferred or willingness to obtain them; relevant equipment certifications when applicable. Capacity to operate effectively in a safety‑sensitive construction environment.
