Plasma Center Nurse - LPN

Job Description The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reports to the Plasma Center Manager and supports plasma center operations. Responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. The role works under the guidance of the Center Manager or Assistant Manager and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. About the role The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS). Familiarity with plasma collection industry regulations or a manufacturing environment is required. How You Will Contribute Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions at the facility as outlined in SOPs. Follow SOPs for medical emergencies, develop Center Physician standing orders and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues. Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats. What you bring to Takeda High school diploma or equivalent, or a recognized nursing program graduate equivalent with state requirements. Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN. Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of clinical or hospital experience. Salary and Benefits U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 – $33.44. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications and location, and will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.
