Power Systems Engineer

We are looking for a dynamic Power Electronics R&D Engineer to join a leading technology company in Fremont, CA. This role involves working on cutting-edge power electronics projects, including AC/DC, DC/DC, HVDC/DC systems, inverter-based solutions, and high-power conversion platforms for various applications.The ideal candidate should hold a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.Qualified candidates from North America may be eligible for relocation assistance, and visa support options like H1B transfer, TN, and Green Card sponsorship may be available.Travel requirements for this position are around 20-25%, with international trips to Europe and Asia included.This role focuses on advanced development, prototyping, platform design, and tackling complex high-power engineering challenges ranging from kW to MW scale.Project ResponsibilitiesDesigning high-power AC/DC, DC/DC, and HVDC/DC conversion systemsAssisting in R&D initiatives, prototype development, and architecture designConducting efficiency optimization, thermal analysis, and system validationLeading lab testing, debugging, and performance evaluationTroubleshooting technical issues and conducting root-cause analysisTranslating customer needs into engineering solutionsCollaborating with global R&D teams in the U.S., Europe, and AsiaContributing to innovative high-density power systemsQualificationsPh.D. in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related fieldHands-on experience with high-power systemsExpertise in lab validation, testing, and system optimizationAbility to work on advanced development projectsInterest in customer-oriented problem solving and global collaborationBilingualism is a plusAdditional InformationBase salary: $180K–$200KBonus: 20%Travel: 20-25%, including international tripsRelocation: Available for North American candidatesVisa Support: H1B transfer, TN, and Green Card sponsorship possibleThis is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new R&D team working on real-world high-power engineering challenges with a global reach and the chance to shape future power conversion technologies.
