Senior Water/Wastewater Project Leader Hybrid

We are actively seeking an experienced Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer with a unique blend of talent for both spearheading high‑stakes water/wastewater projects and nurturing client relations with finesse and strategic acuity. This role shapes the future of our region’s municipal wastewater infrastructure. Responsibilities Lead with innovation and expertise, guiding multi‑disciplinary teams through wastewater process engineering, ensuring initiatives meet scope, schedule, budget, and other designated targets. Work with Project Managers in the planning and delivery of challenging and impactful projects. Champion excellence and client satisfaction, delivering projects that exceed expectations while adhering to strict safety, quality, and risk management standards. Drive growth and opportunity by securing new contracts through compelling proposals, presentations, and negotiations, founded on deep market understanding and client needs. Act as the key technical lead for wastewater treatment projects – planning, directing, monitoring, and delivering all project aspects from concept through detailed design, construction services, and commissioning. Support high‑profile projects with municipal clients in the Tri‑State area, ensuring Jacobs is the consultant‑of‑choice. Lead and manage teams through all project phases to meet scope, schedule, budget, and contract requirements. Work on PFAS projects, responding to regulatory changes and capital investment opportunities. Collaborate with Project Managers to develop suitable solutions for client challenges. Ensure successful project completion while maintaining health, safety, quality, financial, delivery, and risk management goals. Play a leadership role in business development activities that result in new wastewater contracts, including relationship development, positioning, teaming, proposal preparation, and oral presentations. Demonstrate integrity and candor to support the Jacobs Culture of Caring work environment. Mentor and support junior staff in the local and regional water group. Qualifications B.S. or M.S. degree in related engineering. 10+ years of progressively responsible experience with wastewater treatment design, planning, and municipal consulting. Progressive experience leading and overseeing small to large treatment projects. Professional Engineer (PE) license. Strong understanding of industry‑standard tools and metrics associated with wastewater, and a proven history of leading project delivery teams to meet client expectations. Attributes including excellent oral and written communication, self‑motivation, team‑oriented work practices, strong data analysis and technical problem‑solving, and strong organizational skills. Proven track record in developing and maintaining strong client relationships that generate new and repeat consulting work. Effective interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and leadership of diverse teams. Preferred Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline. The base salary range for this position is $150,000.00 to $225,000.00. Compensation is determined by location and additional factors such as experience, education, and training.
