Plasma Center Nurse - EMT-P

Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) Support operations at a Plasma Donation Center under the guidance of the Center Manager and physician. Responsibilities include donor eligibility assessment, medical support, and environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Manage donor adverse events, evaluate donor reactions, and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including standing orders and transfer to emergency care facilities. Notify donors of unsuitable test results and refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees and manage employee incidents in accordance with EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Current licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT‑Paramedic. Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Complete FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years in a clinical or hospital setting. Location & Compensation Location: Houston, TX (Buffalo).Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44 .The actual hourly wage offered will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
