Housekeeper

Position Summary

Holdenville General Hospital is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our Environmental Services team. The Housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This position supports quality patient care by ensuring all areas of the hospital meet the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas according to hospital standards and infection control policies.

• Safely handle and dispose of trash, linens, and biohazard materials.

• Restock supplies such as soap, paper products, and linens in assigned areas.

• Operate housekeeping equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and cleaning carts safely and efficiently.

• Report maintenance or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.

• Follow all hospital safety, infection prevention, and confidentiality procedures.

• Work collaboratively with other hospital departments to support overall patient care and service quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Previous housekeeping or custodial experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, is a plus but not required-training provided.

• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, sanitary environment.

• Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.

• Must demonstrate professionalism and a strong customer-service attitude.

Must be able to pass a background check and complete a pre-employment drug test with a negative result.
