Drill & Tap Laborer

New Tech Metals is seeking a dependable and motivated Drill & Tap Laborer to become an integral part of our manufacturing team. This position performs drilling, tapping, assembly, and other production tasks while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.

Shifts Available

First Shift
Monday–Thursday: 6:00 AM–3:30 PM
Friday: 6:00 AM–12:00 PM

Second Shift
Monday–Thursday: 3:30 PM–1:00 AM
$1.00/hour shift premium
30-minute paid lunch break

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to assemble products and components.
• Operate a FlexArm pneumatic tapping arm.
• Read and interpret blueprints to determine required tap, countersink, and drill sizes and depths.
• Perform drilling, tapping, countersinking, and related production operations.
• Operate small hand tools such as grinders, buffers, and sanders.
• Rotate between tasks and workstations as required by specific production processes.
• Inspect products and components to ensure they meet quality and customer requirements.
• Follow work instructions, department routings, and established production procedures.
• Accurately complete required production and quality documentation.
• Prepare completed products and components for shipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and tool changes as required.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and waste reduction.
• Work safely and follow all company safety procedures.
• Wear required personal protective equipment, including safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing, assembly, or related experience preferred.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to perform equipment maintenance, tool changes, and machine operation.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, work instructions, and department routings.
• Familiarity with common assembly tools and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to stay organized and follow established procedures.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive lifting, bending, reaching, and maneuvering of metal components.
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
