The position of Mental Health Coordinator involves planning and providing clinical mental health services of a non‑medical nature in the facility. Responsibilities Conduct mental health screenings and assessments based on records and clinical interviews with inmates. Provide treatment by developing, implementing, and modifying individual treatment plans based on an evaluation of needs and functioning. Document treatment and evaluation activities in the healthcare record for each person seen. Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive materials and information at all times. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques through treatments and activities used for individuals in caseload. Provide appropriate mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis interventions to address the needs of inmates. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related clinical area. Five years of clinical experience, including at least two years in a comparable position. Must possess appropriate certification or licensing in the state where practice occurs (e.g., LPC, LCSW, or LMFT). A valid driver's license is preferred unless required by contract or applicable statute. Minimum age requirement: 18 years.
