Overnight Veterinary Technician

BluePearl Pet Hospital – Veterinary Technician (Emergency & Critical Care) Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 / hour (starting point; dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system). At BluePearl Pet Hospital, the role of Veterinary Technician offers an exciting fast‑paced opportunity to use the skills you have honed and to expand your expertise alongside talented veterinary professionals. As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will: Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment. Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure. Perform digital radiography using proper technique, including proper positioning of patients. Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR. Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and durations. Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters. Mentor and train other co‑workers.
