Bellows Free Academy seeks an Athletic Trainer to provide services for up to 6 days per week for no more than 25-30 hours per week. The athletic trainer candidate must hold a license through the Vermont Secretary of State Office of Professional Regulations. The Athletic Trainers job description at BFA will include but not be limited to: Provide acute medical intervention during practices and games. Determine the need for emergent care for players and initiates the EMS system when necessary. Make recommendations to athletes for appropriate treatment post injury, emphasizing patient choice of provider. Provide pre-game and post-game medical support to athletes i.e; taping, wrapping, icing, and whirlpool. Develop and implement conditioning programs for athletes in conjunction with coaches and Physical Therapists. Follow National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) standards and corresponding Vermont chapter, the Vermont Association of Athletic Trainers. Provide our visiting teams with assistance as requested by the school. Document injuries and interventions per the School’s guidelines.
