Registered Dental Hygienist

Overview Pay Rate: $52 per hour plus $1,414 weekly travel stipends (If applicable) Schedule: 8-hour shift scheduled within the Taos-Picuris Service Unit’s hours of operation, which are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays. 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Contract Length: 1 year with the option to extend Benefits: $5.09 per hour for Health and Welfare, 10 days PTO, Accrued sick days, and 11 Paid Holidays. Job Description We are seeking an experienced Dental Hygienist to provide high-quality preventive and therapeutic oral care in a well-structured clinical setting. This role focuses on patient education, disease prevention, and supporting overall oral health in an underserved community. Requirements Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution. Minimum 3 years of experience (adult & pediatric) BLS or ACLS certification Radiography (X-ray) certification Local anesthesia authorization Valid driver’s license Ability to meet IHS credentialing requirements Dentrix (or similar EHR) experience preferred Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, scaling and root planing, periodontal assessments, and oral cancer screenings Take and review dental radiographs to support diagnosis and treatment planning Apply preventive treatments such as fluoride and sealants Administer local anesthesia and deliver therapeutic agents as permitted Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and post-treatment care Accurately document all patient encounters in Dentrix/EHR systems Maintain strict infection control and sterilization protocols Prepare treatment rooms and ensure proper equipment readiness Monitor patient conditions and assist in dental or medical emergencies Support inventory management of dental supplies and equipment Communicate effectively with providers and patients to ensure continuity of care #J-18808-Ljbffr Lumbee Group Resource Management
