Come be a part of our mission!Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Manufacturing Engineer Level 3 based out of Sunnyvale, CA.This position is full-time onsite.You will support and integrate into a marine propulsion development program through concept, preliminary and final design. The marine propulsion architecture consists of steam turbines, associated valves, linkage, couplings, reduction gears, ancillary equipment, shipboard tooling and manufacturing tooling. The program requires manufacturing input on functional design considerations, design for manufacturability/assembly and design for schedule/cost. What You'll get to Do:Propose new/improved manufacturing processes, assembly features/methods and tooling fixtures with the intent of reducing manufacturing time and costProvide input to develop efficient manufacturing process flows/sequences and optimize production area layoutsMake recommendation for manufacturing continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of new capital equipment for establishing efficient production processesPerform Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) studies on new product development initiatives and provide recommendations for implementationPerform Design-to-Cost (DTC) assessments of new and existing products while maintaining performanceIntegrate with and support the Integrated Product Team (IPT) consisting of Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Operations, and Global Supply Chain to meet program goalsFull-time Day Shift support (5 days/week)Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 3 or more years of relevant work experienceExperience reading and interpreting engineering drawingsExperience with mechanical assembly processesExperience in continuous improvementExperience in technical writingAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret ClearanceUS Citizenship requiredPreferred Qualifications:Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aeronautical EngineeringActive Secret ClearanceExperience with propulsion and power plant machinery or experience building large equipment structuresExperience with GDT control plan development and executionExperience utilizing a modern ERP systemManufacturing equipment, product testing and facility operational experienceExperience leading technical projects requiring project planning, scheduling, resource identification and financial managementExperience with New Product Introduction (NPI)Experience with applying Lean Six Sigma principles on low volume, high mix processesExperience with installation of new equipment and/or processing in a highly controlled environmentExperience with materials and heat treatment of materialsAn understanding of various manufacturing processes for high value gearing and steam turbine assemblies, machined components, and welded fabrications is desiredPrimary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
