Position Summary Henderson Building Solutions is seeking a Commissioning Technician (Refrigeration) to support field startup, testing, and troubleshooting of refrigeration systems. This role can be based out of any of our national offices. The Commissioning Technician is responsible for executing building commissioning and retro‑commissioning tasks on projects to include field observation and testing, report generation and project planning. They perform testing, adjusting and balancing tasks, make site visits, attend meetings and communicate with clients and sub‑contractors ensuring project success. They document all processes and issues and compile final reports to be sent to clients. Key Responsibilities Create owner project requirements, construction plans and specifications Review drawings and maintain a record of comments Generate checklists and tests for equipment Make site visits to complete pre‑functional test checklists Generate site observation and issues reports Review equipment submittals and maintain a record of comments Perform testing, adjusting and balancing tasks, which includes adjusting air and hydronic systems Make site visits to complete functional performance tests Generate final reports Make site visits to troubleshoot issues Assess equipment operation and conditions Generate reports summarizing visits, equipment conditions and recommendations Develop and maintain client relationships Set up projects and folders Evaluate budgets to determine the proper allocation of resources and time for each job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of engineering required, or 4+ years of experience without a relevant degree. Common examples include Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, or Architectural Engineering. High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
