Summary:

We are currently seeking a Lead Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Technologist to work full-time at an acute-care facility in Columbia, SC.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS).
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a medical technologist, with a progressive increase in responsibility.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Familiarity with laboratory information systems and data management.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results through the implementation and monitoring of quality control measures.
Perform complex laboratory tests and analyses as needed.
Stay current with advancements in medical technology and laboratory techniques, and implement best practices.
Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
Keep the team informed about new procedures, protocols, and technologies.
Create and implement a schedule for the medical technologists and MLTs in the lab.
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
