Job Title:   Trainee, Merchandising Women's RTW

JOB PURPOSE:

The Dior Corporate Trainee participates in a program designed to identify and develop future talent for the organization. By working closely with their assigned Department, the Trainee supports the organization's short and long-term objectives through day to day administrative and long-term project work. Trainees across departments will collaborate to develop initiatives to improve business results, and present a project to the Executive Leadership Team. The Merchandising Trainee is responsible for supporting the department in managing the business strategy for the Americas Boutiques. Main responsibilities include reporting and recaps, product tool creation, competitive market analysis, supporting the buying process, and distribution in accordance with total company vision.

Job responsibilities

Merchandising:

• Review and support running weekly sales reports: Generate a variety of Excel based reports; store and business recaps, ensure tracking to sales targets
• Compile updates to share with the Retail teams every week through the Merchandising Newsletter
• Assist with weekly stock rebalances to improve sales and sell-thru
• Communicate and partner closely with Retail teams to manage day to day product inquiries
• Monitor and Track Trunk Show Samples
• Support the creation of seasonal launch tools: mapping and buy book creation, manage photo and selling tools, ensure client orders are filled accurately, strategically adjust allocations to match reservation needs
• Analyze the market and prepare comprehensive recaps on competitive pricing, trends, market activities, and events monthly
• Assist team during the preparation of the 4 Buying Sessions: support compilation of premarket analysis by store and classification; assist with the allocation of the collection at store and size level
• Participate and share new ideas to drive business strategy

Reporting:

• Support Merchandising team on weekly reporting and ad-hoc analysis as needed
• Prepare and provide analysis on fast/slow sellers and sell-thru report
• Prepare and compile seasonal qualitative collection feedback
• Hindsight end of season (EOS) product analysis and recaps

Profile

• Effectively and professionally communicate with Boutique teams
• Operate all systems and retail programs necessary to perform the job
• Flexibility to react quickly to changing demands of business; able to set priorities to maximize time effectively and efficiently
• Technical ability to manage merchandising software
• Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills

REQUIREMENTS:

• Full-time, 12 Month Program
• Must be available M-F, 9-6pm, Friday WFH
• At least 6 months of prior Merchandising/Buying work or internship experience, luxury retail Women's experience preferred; strong working knowledge of Retail Math and Retail critical metrics
• Strong knowledge of Excel & PPT, proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs
• The appointed candidate will be offered a salary of $20 per hour, potential eligibility to participate in the Company's medical benefits plan, commuter benefits, and 401k plans with employer contributions.
