Project Executive - Greensboro

This position is based out of our Greensboro, NC regional office.

As a Project Executive, you lead multiple Samet projects from kickoff to completion, guiding the architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors who bring them to life. You keep schedules, budgets, and quality on track, solve problems before they grow, and keep every stakeholder talking.

You’ll also be the face of Samet to our clients and owners, help us win the next project, and mentor the early-career builders who will lead ours down the road. If you lead with trust and finish what you start, this is your seat. We are especially seeking someone with a strong understanding of our local market in the Triad and surrounding counties to join and strengthen our team.

What You’ll Do

• Manage multiple construction projects from commencement to completion, overseeing project teams including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.

• Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to Samet’s quality standards.

• Identify potential risks and develop innovative solutions to minimize delays, cost overruns, and other issues.

• Monitor project budgets, review cost estimates, track expenses, and implement cost control measures.

• Prepare and present project reports, including progress updates and financial analysis.

• Coordinate with clients, owners, and subcontractors to set expectations and maximize client satisfaction.

• Consult with project development team members to support efforts to win prospective project bids.

• Advocate compliance with health and safety regulations to promote a safe working environment on construction sites.

• Support, and at times initiate, continuous quality and safety improvement initiatives.

• Extend career development activities to early-career construction professionals to grow Samet’s internal talent pipeline.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) from an accredited four-year college or university in construction management, business administration, civil engineering, or a related field (required).

• 10-12 years of related experience, or 15+ years of experience overall (required).

• Demonstrated understanding of the Triad and surrounding counties’ construction market and best practices.

• Mastery of construction methods, building codes, and regulations.

• Advanced knowledge of the commercial construction industry and construction operations principles (required).

• Proficiency in project management software and tools.

• Knowledge of cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis.

• LEED AP or LEED Green Associate (preferred).

• Experience in one or more of these markets (a plus): commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and multi-family housing.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with exceptional attention to detail.

• Ability to gain trust and inspire confidence in team members.

• Ability to express thoughts and ideas clearly and concisely, and to handle confidential information discreetly.

• A passion for superior customer service and exceeding expectations.

Additional Requirements

Physical Demands: Regularly required to sit, walk (including on rough or uneven surfaces), use hands and fingers to feel or handle equipment and files, reach with hands and arms, drive, bend, talk, see, and hear. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds. Occasionally required to stand, climb stairs or ladders, balance, kneel, crouch, and turn or twist. Work Environment: An office environment with frequent, recurring visits to construction sites. Noise levels can range from low to high, and temperature varies by location. Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, long correspondence, and memos; write complex correspondence; and communicate effectively one-on-one and in small and large groups with Associates and clients.

Computer Skills: Intermediate skill level in the Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint. Ability to communicate and interact with Associates remotely through platforms like Zoom or Teams, and to type complex correspondence.

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to comprehend and execute detailed written and oral instructions using common sense reasoning, and to navigate obstacles involving few concrete variables in conventional situations.

Certificates and Licenses: A valid driver’s license is required.
