Heavy Equipment Operator/Utility

Job Description
An established industrial operation in the Detroit area is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to transport materials safely and efficiently within an production environment. The position involves operating heavy machinery, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring adherence to all safety and operational procedures. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate haultrucks and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently in all areas ofthe operation.
• Follow allcompany and regulatory safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Maintainawareness of hazards and changing conditions throughout the worksite.
• Perform basicmaintenance on conveyors, crushers, and screen decks (e.g., replacingidlers, greasing bearings, changing screens, clearing chutes).
• Conduct basicmobile equipment servicing, such as adding fluids, greasing, and replacingcovers or guards.
• Assistmaintenance personnel with assigned repair or service tasks as directed.
• Performhousekeeping and inspection duties to maintain clean, organized, and safework areas.
• Accuratelycomplete required paperwork and maintain records of operational andproduction data.
• Communicateclearly with supervisors and team members regarding safety, equipmentcondition, and production concerns.
• Cross-train andperform additional duties as assigned in, crushing, screening, or supportfunctions.
• Comply with allcompany safety rules and applicable regulatory standards.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

• Previousexperience operating heavy equipment such as haul trucks, loaders, or skidsteers preferred.
• High schooldiploma or GED preferred.
• Mechanicaland/or electrical aptitude strongly desired.
• Proven abilityto identify and resolve problems safely and efficiently.
• Strongsituational awareness and attention to detail to promote a safe workenvironment.
• Ability toread, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Must be able topass a physical exam and drug screening.
• Reliableattendance and the ability to work a consistent schedule are required.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• Ability to workin an industrial environment with variable temperatures and conditionsyear-round.
• Must be able tolift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Compliance withall required personal protective equipment (PPE) standards.
