Assistant Coach, Cheerleading

Position Title Assistant Coach, Cheerleading (Part time) Position Summary Under the direction of the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach will implement skill development programs for the Cheerleading program. This is a part‑time, 12‑month position primarily performed from September through April, with duties as needed in the off‑months. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assume the duties of the Head Coach in their absence. Attend practices, men’s and women’s basketball games, competitions, alumni events, and fundraising events. Provide instruction in team concepts and sports etiquette. Exhibit strong leadership skills at all times. Secondary Duties & Responsibilities Assist with planning, marketing, and executing team fundraisers, alumni events, and parent activities. Maintain familiarity with the University’s Student Code of Conduct and other institutional policies that establish expectations for student behavior. Work with the Head Coach and administrators to stay within fiscal and budgetary guidelines. Provide advice and assistance to the Head Coach to help solve challenging and difficult situations. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Minimum 5 years of demonstrated effective coaching experience with a collegiate or competitive cheerleading program (or a combination of coaching and relevant experience). USA Cheer certification. Knowledge of the rules and safety regulations of cheerleading. Knowledge of all styles of cheerleading (NCA, UCA, STUNT, etc.). Knowledge of various social media platforms and experience creating social media content. Administrative skills such as prioritization, organization, and budgeting. Self‑directed, motivated, able to work independently and under pressure. Subject to a motor vehicle record check and additional university background checks. Preferred Qualifications Experience creating social media content for cheerleading events. Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours Frequent evening and weekend hours required. Occasional daytime hours. Some travel required. Pay Transparency This position has a fixed rate of $15.73 per hour. Eligibility Applicants must be residents of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York (excluding New York City zip codes), or Delaware.
