Clinical Research Coordinator Associate, Emergency Medicine (Hybrid Opportunity)

Position Overview The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator Associate to support prospective clinical research studies conducted in the Stanford Emergency Department. The research program focuses on remote monitoring, risk prediction, and mobile health interventions in acute care populations. This position will work under the supervision of senior research staff and will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of investigators and coordinators while taking a lead role in coordinating moderately complex aspects of ongoing studies. Please note that this position will be based on the Stanford campus and is a hybrid role (working on-site 3 days), subject to operational needs. Duties Serve as a primary contact with research participants, including consenting eligible patients in the Emergency Department setting during day, evening, and occasional weekend hours. Determine participant eligibility and obtain informed consent according to study protocols. Assist in developing and executing recruitment strategies within the ED environment. Coordinate studies from IRB approval through close‑out, including startup activities, regulatory submissions, and ongoing compliance monitoring. Collect and manage clinical and research data, including survey administration, mobile app‑based assessments, and physiologic sensor data collection. Maintain research project databases, develop tracking documents and flow sheets, and complete case report forms with accuracy and attention to source documentation. Ensure compliance with research protocols; review and audit case report forms for completeness. Coordinate scheduling, assemble study materials and kits, and liaise with ED clinical staff to facilitate participant engagement without disrupting clinical care. Interact regularly with the principal investigators to ensure participant safety and proper study conduct. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of participant and research data in accordance with institutional and regulatory requirements. Assist with data quality review and preparation of data summaries for team meetings and progress reports. Participate in monitoring visits and regulatory audits as needed. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a health‑related, social science, or behavioral science field. 1 year of related experience in clinical research or a healthcare setting. Experience working in a fast‑paced clinical environment, such as an emergency department, hospital, or urgent care setting. Familiarity with REDCap or similar research data management platforms. Interest in behavioral health, mobile health technology, or emergency medicine research. Education & Experience Two year college degree and two years related work experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of related education and relevant experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of medical terminology. Certifications & Licenses Society of Clinical Research Associates or Association of Clinical Research Professionals certification is preferred. Physical Requirements Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat and use fine light/fine grasping. Occasionally sit, reach above shoulders, perform desk‑based computer tasks, use a telephone and write by hand, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds. Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, grasp forcefully, sort and file paperwork or parts, rarely lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh 40 pounds or more. Compensation & Benefits The expected pay range for this position is $34.56 to $40.30 per hour. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire.
