Talent Solutions is partnering with a family-owned cattle and farming operation in Northeast Colorado to find their next long-term team member.

This operation runs approximately 400 head of commercial cows, farms 1,500 acres, does custom farming, backgrounds calves, and supports trucking, harvest, silage, and beet operations throughout the year.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys both cattle and farming, and wants to be part of a family-oriented operation where hard work, integrity, and teamwork are valued. You'll work directly alongside the owners, play an important role in the operation's success, and have the opportunity to grow with the business over time.

While experience is valued, the owners are willing to train the right person. If you have experience driving farm trucks, have been around cattle, and bring a strong work ethic and willingness to learn, they can teach the rest.

What You'll Be Doing

This role changes with the seasons, offering a wide variety of responsibilities throughout the year.
Cattle Responsibilities

• Assist with calving (February-April)
• Monitor the cow herd and identify health issues
• Feed cattle using feed wagons and other feeding equipment
• Sort, move, and work cattle through corrals
• Assist with weaning and backgrounding calves
• Check water, mineral, and pasture conditions
• Help load and haul cattle as needed

Farming Responsibilities

• Operate tractors, loaders, and various farm equipment
• Assist with planting, tillage, irrigation, and harvest
• Manage pivots and irrigation systems
• Assist with haying activities, including baling and hauling
• Mow, spray ditches, and perform general field maintenance
• Perform equipment maintenance and minor repairs

Trucking Responsibilities

• Haul cattle between locations
• Haul grain during harvest
• Haul silage during chopping season
• Assist with beet harvest trucking operations
• Transport equipment and materials as needed

General Responsibilities

• Fence repair and maintenance
• Equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
• Shop work
• Property upkeep
• Assist wherever needed during busy seasons

Qualifications
Required

• Experience operating farm trucks or semi-trucks hauling cattle, grain, or agricultural commodities
• Experience working around cattle
• Valid driver's license
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team

Preferred

• CDL (not required)
• Mechanical aptitude
• Experience operating feed wagons
• Irrigation experience
• Ability to recognize and troubleshoot equipment issues
