We are currently looking for a Fiber Assembly Technician to join our growing team! The Fiber Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling high-performance fiber optic cable products using precise manufacturing and termination techniques. All technicians receive training in fiber optic fundamentals, including cable preparation, termination, and assembly processes. Candidates who demonstrate strong aptitude and attention to detail will have the opportunity to advance into precision polishing and high-performance finishing techniques.

This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in craftsmanship, quality, and continuous improvement in a clean, technology-driven manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble fiber optic cable products with a focus on quality, consistency, and efficiency
• Perform cable preparation, termination, and processing according to established procedures
• Take ownership of work by conducting:
  • Mechanical inspections
  • Basic continuity testing prior to final QA approval
• Ensure all assemblies meet strict cleanliness and performance standards
  • Polished connectors must be free of contamination, excess adhesive, slurry residue, and polishing debris
• Follow detailed work instructions, part numbers, and production documentation with accuracy
• Communicate effectively with team leads to maintain and improve product quality and workflow
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Fiber Lab
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace consistent with lab and clean-room standards
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
• All employees are required to adhere guidelines for safety, PPE, tool use, etc.
• All employees are required to read and follow the employee manual distributed by Tower Products Incorporated and the Quality Policy Statement.
• All personnel wash their hands when shifts are completed

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, procedures, and technical documentation
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially with part numbers and measurements
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools and assembly equipment
• Solid math, time management, and basic computer skills
• Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions with consistency
• Effective communication skills and a professional, team-oriented mindset
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work in a casual clean-room/lab environment with state-of-the-art equipment
• Regular exposure to mechanical equipment (e.g., cable reeling machinery)
• Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for fine motor tasks
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs (with proper training and safety practices)
