RN Supervisor Westside Health Center (Family Practice & OBGYN) Cherry Health

The RN Supervisor at Cherry Healths Westside Health Center provides clinical leadership and operational oversight for the Family Practice and OBGYN departments. This role is ideal for an experienced OB nurse leader who thrives in a dynamic ambulatory care environment and is passionate about developing newer staff while maintaining strong clinical standards.

Reporting directly to site leadership the RN Supervisor oversees a growing team of 7 RNs 8 Medical Assistants. With many newer team members this leader will play a key role in redeveloping and strengthening the teamfostering mentorship accountability and a culture of clinical excellence.

This position balances hands-on clinical involvement with strong supervisory and operational management. The RN Supervisor ensures annual competencies vaccine management compliance clinical training support performance oversight and appropriate staffing coverage while also remaining actively engaged in patient care workflows when needed. Success in this role requires the ability to multitask effectively managing staff patient needs and organizational priorities without losing focus on leadership responsibilities.

The ideal candidate brings:

• 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience in an ambulatory care setting
• Prior OBGYN experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead coach and develop newer clinical staff
• Strong organizational skills to balance operational oversight with clinical engagement

Work schedule:

MondayFriday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM

Rotating Saturdays 9:00 AM 12 PM

Michigan RN license required (BSN preferred).

This is a full time benefit eligible position supporting our Westside Health Center with a primary focus on supporting our Womens Health programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrates leadership and management skills that foster a culture of mentoring coaching motivating and engaging staff.
• Models and communicates key values in the community and to staff in a way that supports Cherry Healths mission.
• Educates and empowers staff to be adept at meeting current and future organizational needs and adjusts staff hours priorities and assignments to ensure efficient operation based on workload.
• Directs supervises trains evaluates competencies and addresses performance issues consistently promptly and appropriately.
• Plans and facilitates meetings to communicate organizational initiatives and updates to staff.
• Assists in the development and monitoring of department/program budgets.
• Works collaboratively with clients and teams to determine status strengths and needs.
• Participates in team meetings.
• Acts as a resource for medical questions and concerns from clients families guardians and staff.
• Manages and approves all time off requests for staff including timecard approval.
• Manages and arranges coverage during staff absences.
• Completes yearly Performance Evaluations.
• Supervises RN and MA performance provides structured supervision and completes performance improvement plans/corrective action plans as necessary.
• Participates in the development of program protocols as needed.
• Understands and adheres to Cherry Healths compliance standards as outlined in Cherry Healths Corporate Compliance Policy Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
• Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal state and Cherry Healths regulations laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
• Ensures staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Basic Life Support/CPR training according to requirements of license and/or certification.

EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATES:

Current registered nurse license with the State of Michigan required. Preferred BSN.

EXPERIENCE:

• Three or more years of supervisory or managerial experience preferably in ambulatory care which includes working with multiple providers.
• Prefer experience in family practice womens health and working with high-need populations government funding and multiple sites or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job listed above.
  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Possible exposure to patients/clients with illnesses and/or infections.
• Frequent telephone and computer use requiring manual dexterity for writing and computer use.
• Sitting standing or walking for extended periods of time.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• May require bending squatting or kneeling and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
