Division Chief, Child Neurology

the client is recruiting an academically accomplished and strategic leader to serve as Division Chief of Child Neurology. This senior-level faculty role will drive the continued growth and advancement of child neurology programs across all missions, including leadership of clinical and research partnerships with institutional stakeholders. The Division Chief will also support excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate medical education levels and is expected to be a nationally recognized leader in the field. The Division Chief will oversee comprehensive pediatric neurological care, including areas such as epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, headache, acute brain injury, stroke, movement disorders, and developmental delay, and will support multidisciplinary approaches for complex pediatric conditions. Key responsibilities include directing clinical support and patient care functions, establishing and overseeing clinical algorithms and pathways, and ensuring program safety and quality across outpatient and inpatient settings. The role also includes collaborating with stakeholders to establish a neuroscience service line, identifying opportunities for strategic program growth in partnership with relevant internal departments, and recruiting and developing additional clinical and research faculty and investigators. The Division Chief will lead research and academic development by identifying and stimulating meritorious, fundable basic science-based and translational/clinical research in child neurologic disorders, mentoring investigators engaged in laboratory-based and/or clinic-based translational research, and building research partnerships with other academic institutions and industry partners to advance translational goals. The position will also support the development of investigator-initiated and hybrid clinical trial portfolios and sustain mentoring, training, advocacy, and outreach efforts, including engagement with value-based care initiatives to improve access. Qualifications include an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. (or equivalent), successful completion of an accredited child neurology residency, and eligibility for licensure and board certification (or eligibility in neurology with special qualification in child neurology); desired attributes include a strong record of peer-reviewed research and extramural grant funding, national leadership in child neurology research and/or clinical practice, experience in multidisciplinary programs focused on patient-centered care, and the interpersonal skills to lead and build consensus in a complex environment.
