Master Stylist

Job Summary Master Stylist – responsible for engaging with guests, consulting on hair care needs, and recommending products and services. Delivers high‑quality professional services with a focus on the guest’s total look, supporting the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager in performance, people, and process areas. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Performance Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable). Meet or exceed an average weekly sales goal of $1,250 and productivity goals for hair services; contribute to overall store retail and service sales and guest loyalty. Carry out product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest service experience. Support in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives that deliver an unrivaled guest experience. Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services, understanding ingredients and benefits to better serve guests. Maintain prompt, regular attendance. People Build guest relationships through consultations and appropriate retail and service recommendations. Serve all guests, including walk‑ins, in a timely and efficient manner. Collaborate with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a total‑store guest experience. Foster professional peer and brand partner relationships that support exceptional guest service. Share benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app. Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development. Process Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards. Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures before, during, and after services; ensure compliance with state board guidelines. Follow established service protocols for a consistent guest experience. Use booking systems to schedule guests for return services and events. Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager, ensuring guest readiness at all times. Maintain outstanding store operational standards, including cleanliness of salon, sales floor, restrooms, backroom, break area, and other assigned areas. Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code. Protect company assets through loss prevention best practices. Execute other operational tasks as directed. Job Qualifications Education Cosmetology license. Experience Previous relevant work experience is required. Skills Proficiency with latest salon techniques for all service categories. Proficiency with equipment and chemicals needed for technical work. Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell professional hair‑care and makeup products. Strong communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships. Special Position Requirements Work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Working Conditions Continuous mobility during shift. Continuous lifting/moving up to 10 lbs throughout shift. Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting during shift. Ability to stand for long periods during shift. Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift. Pay and Benefits Pay range: $20.00 - $20.00 per hour. Eligible associates can earn additional services pay under the Services Compensation Plan.
