Applicants MUST be current students at DigiPen Institute of Technology to qualify for this position. Student Employment at DigiPen is open to all currently matriculated students if they meet the qualifications for the job. Students may not work during any time when they have a class scheduled , a class is canceled , or a class ends early . Student workers must reside within the State of Washington. Remote work outside of Washington will not be permitted. Position: Student TA - ANI-1000 (Daly), F26 Reports to: Dan Daly Class Times: Section A: Tuesday - 9:00 - 9:50 a.m. Wednesday - 9:00 - 11:50 a.m. Section B: Tuesday - 9:00 - 9:50 a.m. Friday - 9:00 - 11:50 a.m. Essential Functions Must have a good understanding of the 12 principles of animation, confidence in basic character construction, working knowledge of TVPaint, some knowledge of other 2D animation software a plus, and intro-level knowledge of Maya . Duties and Responsibilities Classroom setup Technical help with programs... TV Paint; Rough Animator; Procreate; or Toon Boom Harmony Doing draw-overs for students & a solid understanding of the 12 Animation Principles Assisting students in labs and during published office hours Meeting students online, if required Providing constructive feedback for to the students Accountable for tracking and reporting the amount of time worked Working with other TA's & possibly covering for other class times General help & working with instructors Qualifications/Competencies Have proven proficiency with the course material Strong 2D drawing skills & the good understanding of staging Possess a positive attitude toward learning and a willingness to help others excel Be comfortable interacting with other students on an instructional level as a mentor Arrive on time and be prepared to attend with complete focus during work hours Successfully completed ANI-101 & ANI-151 or ANI-1000 with a B+ or higher Comfortable with various programs Able to give critique in a professional manner Strong communicator Reliable, punctual, and invested in the success of their fellow students Be able to work independently Understanding of 3D Maya a plus, but not required (for last assignment only) Expected dates of employment: August 31 - December 11, 2026 Expected number of hours per week: 4 - 6 *** Once again, students are not permitted to work during any time when they are scheduled for a class. *** Wage Range: $17.13 - $18.25 per hour , depending on number of terms worked at DigiPen DigiPen Student Employee Academic Requirements: Are currently a Matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology Good Academic Standing - not on Academic Warning as defined in DigiPen Course Catalog A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher Have taken and passed ANI-101 & ANI-151 or ANI-1000 with a B+ or better Requirement Exceptions: It is possible to still be selected for a position with DigiPen if you do not meet the requirements above, so don't let that dissuade you from applying!
