Mortgage Processor

Job Description

Position Summary:

The Mortgage Processor is responsible for supporting the processing of residential mortgage loan applications from initial submission through approval and closing. This role reviews loan documentation, verifies information, communicates with internal teams and third parties, and ensures loans are processed accurately and in accordance with applicable guidelines and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and process mortgage loan applications for FHA, Conventional, and VA loan products .
\n
• Collect, review, and verify borrower documentation, including income, assets, employment, credit, and property information.
\n
• Review loan files for completeness and identify missing or inconsistent information.
\n
• Order and follow up on required documentation, including appraisals, title work, insurance, employment verification, and other loan conditions.
\n
• Analyze loan documentation to ensure it meets applicable investor and program guidelines.
\n
• Enter and maintain accurate loan information in mortgage processing systems.
\n
• Communicate with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, closing teams, and third-party vendors regarding outstanding requirements and loan status.
\n
• Monitor loan milestones, deadlines, conditions, and outstanding documentation to keep files moving efficiently.
\n
• Prepare and submit complete loan files for underwriting review.
\n
• Review underwriting conditions and assist with obtaining documentation needed for approval.
\n
• Ensure loan files are accurately documented and maintained throughout the processing lifecycle.
\n
• Escalate issues or discrepancies when appropriate and assist with resolving processing-related questions.
\n

Qualifications:

• Previous mortgage processing, lending, or residential mortgage experience preferred.
\n
• Knowledge of FHA, Conventional, and VA mortgage guidelines .
\n
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple loan files and meet deadlines.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mortgage loan processing systems.
\n
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
