A long-established small animal general practice on the East End of Long Island is hiring a full-time Medical Director to join its current doctor as the second DVM.

The practice provides medical, surgical, and dental care for cats and dogs, with integrative options such as acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. The team values communication, kindness, and collaboration, and the caseload is busiest from late spring through early fall.

Key Highlights:

• Last appointment at 4:30 PM; no expected late nights or on-call
• 2 to 1 staff-to-doctor ratio: 1 part-time LVT, 5 assistants, and 3 CSRs
• Digital and dental radiography, in-house lab, and echocardiogram capability
• Surgery including dentistry, TPLO, and TTA
• Pathway to equity partnership through a national partnership network
• Renovated 3-bedroom onsite cottage available at $1,250/month plus utilities (one available, first come, first served)

About You:

• DVM or VMD from an accredited school
• Valid New York veterinary license, or eligible
• At least 3 years of clinical experience
• Interest in leadership, mentorship, and practice growth

Benefits:

• $150,000 to $180,000 annual base salary plus split production; Medical Director stipend based on experience and team
