Senior Accountant

North Carolina, United States FINNess Advisors is an all-women outsourced accounting and finance firm specializing in consumer products, investor-ready financials, and GAAP-compliant reporting. We partner with fast-growing consumer brands to deliver clarity, insight, and scalability through expert financial management. We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant (remote, US based) to join our dynamic team. This role will support multiple client engagements, ensuring accurate financial reporting, smooth month-end closes, and best-in-class accounting operations tailored to the consumer goods industry. Key Responsibilities: Support day-to-day accounting operations for multiple consumer goods clients acrossvarious growth stages. Lead and manage the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial statement preparation. Review and maintain GAAP-compliant financials in QuickBooks Enterprise and QuickBooks Online. Oversee and optimize inventory accounting, including COGS, landed costs, and inventory reconciliations, leveraging systems such as Cin7 or similar platforms. Ensure accuracy in sales channel reporting (Amazon, Shopify, wholesale, DTC). Assist in building and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Coordinate with clients operations and logistics teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation and reporting. Support external audits, tax filings, and due diligence efforts as needed. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CPA-track preferred. 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within the consumer goods, CPG, or retail/e-commerce sectors. Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise and QuickBooks Online. 2+ years of NetSuite experience. Solid understanding of GAAP, inventory costing, and multi-channel sales accounting. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling). Experience with inventory management systems such as Cin7, DEAR, or NetSuite Inventory. Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client priorities. Prior experience in an outsourced accounting or client-facing environment strongly preferred.
