The Sales Team Lead owns sales production, lead generation, conversion, and customer experience for an assigned district or market within Select Source Water. This is a player-coach role: when not closing in-home water softener sales, the Team Lead is in Home Depot stores and out in the field observing, coaching, and developing their team of

lead generators, water testers, and door knockers. The Team Lead is accountable for building a high-performance

selling culture, hitting district sales targets, and elevating the Select Source Water customer experience at every

touchpoint.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Production & Conversion

Personally close in-home water softener sales appointments generated by the team.

Drive district-level sales, lead volume, and lead-to-sale conversion against monthly targets.

Own the full funnel — from lead capture in-store to in-home presentation and close.

Identify and remove conversion blockers; adjust tactics quickly based on weekly performance.

Team Leadership & Field Coaching

Lead a team of in-store lead generators / water testers (Home Depot) and door knockers.

Spend the majority of non-selling time in-store and in-field — observing pitches, modeling the script, and giving

real-time coaching on approach, qualifying, and lead capture.

Run regular ride-alongs and side-by-sides; deliver immediate, specific, actionable feedback.

Coach, develop, and hold the team accountable to performance standards and brand behaviors.

Build a culture of selling and customer experience that maximizes role success across the team.

Set the standard for customer interactions — in-store, at the door, and in the home. 

Resolve customer concerns quickly and ensure every prospect leaves with a positive impression of Select Source Water. 

Reinforce a service-first, consultative selling approach across the team. 

Business Ownership & Communication 

Speak fluently to the business — wins, losses, opportunities, and risks — and take action based on what the company and the team need. 

Hold regular check-ins with team members (1:1s, team huddles) and with HQ leadership. Communicate hiring needs, openings, and team opportunities upstream to the VP and CEO. Track and report district KPIs weekly; build action plans against gaps. 

CANDIDATE PROFILE & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Proven in-home or direct-sales closing experience (water treatment, home services, or similar preferred). Demonstrated success leading and coaching a field sales team to consistent results. 

Comfortable in a retail setting — strong presence on the floor at Home Depot and similar partners. Player-coach mindset: willing to sell, knock doors, and run water tests alongside the team. Strong communicator — confident speaking to executives (VP / CEO) about the business. Data-literate: can read a KPI dashboard, diagnose what's working, and act on it. 

Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel across the assigned district. Available for evenings and weekends as required by the in-home sales cycle. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is NOT a remote position. The Sales Team Lead is expected to be physically present in their assigned district — in Home Depot stores, on ride-alongs with door knockers, and in customers' homes for closing appointments. Regular check-ins with the team and with HQ leadership are required. Time not spent closing should be spent observing, coaching, and developing the team in the field.
