Our organization is in search of a BE/BC General Gastroenterologist to become part of our team in Athens, TX .

We provide a wide range of facilities and hospital programs that emphasize collaborative, multidisciplinary care, along with access to advanced technologies such as EPIC/EMR and the DaVinci robotic system. Our organization is currently undergoing significant growth and development, highlighted by the upcoming construction of a new 60,000 sq. ft. medical office building set to open in 2027.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with two advanced providers and support staff.
• Utilize Smart Technology: Enhance patient care without extending your workday. Our team employs Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe technology to streamline documentation, lessen administrative tasks, improve patient flow, and ensure precise coding, leading to a better work-life balance and increased revenue.
• This is a full-time employed position.
• Experience in EUS or ERCP is preferred.
• Provide both inpatient and outpatient services.
• Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM (Clinic & Procedure days).
• Expected patient load: 18 - 22+ patients per day in the clinic.

About Our Organization

Our healthcare system consists of nine hospitals, over 90 physician clinics, more than 500 employed providers, 13 regional rehabilitation facilities, two freestanding emergency centers, six urgent care clinics, and regional home health services covering 41 counties. We also operate an EMS fleet with over 60 ambulances and four helicopters, along with a comprehensive trauma care network, including a Level 1 trauma center. The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh within The University of Texas System. Its mission focuses on training future healthcare professionals to address the unique needs of rural and underserved communities, particularly in East Texas.

The school offers a robust Graduate Medical Education program, featuring 20 residency and fellowship training programs that equip graduates with specialized skills in various fields, including family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, surgery, and anesthesia. Currently, a five-story, 248,000-square-foot Medical Education Building (MEB) is under construction in Tyler's Midtown District.
