The position lies within the Global Indirect Tax Team. Reporting directly to the Director, Global Indirect Tax North America; this role will partner with various departments including Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations and Controllership to align trade operations with the overall business objectives.The Trade and Customs Compliance Manager will serve as the primary contact for all trade and customs related matters within Kraft Heinz, which connects to the broader tax requirements and initiatives. What’s on the menu?Develop, maintain, and enforce trade compliance policies, procedures, internal controls and record-keepingEnsure accurate HTS classification, country of origin determination, tariff application, and documentationAct as the North American SME for customs compliance and regulationsManage US and Canadian customs audits customs authorities and business units; ensuring risk mitigation, implementing corrective actions and adherence to regulationsManage broker relationships and government inquiriesAssess customs business impact across the zoneIdentify and execute savings opportunities related to customs compliance and activity (FTZ/Bonded Warehousing, Canada Duty Deferral Programs, Origin and Free Trade Agreements, Duty Drawback, Sugar-Containing Products Re-Export Program, Valuation, Tariff Classification)Manage customs audits across different regions with customs authorities and business units; ensuring risk mitigation, implementing corrective actions and adherence to international and local regulationsOwn trade master data and related trade management tools (i.e. SAP GTS.
