Teen Leadership Camp is designed for young teens ages 14–15 who are ready to grow as leaders while connecting with nature, building friendships, and developing real‑world skills. Counselors play a key role in creating a supportive, engaging, and empowering environment where teens can explore leadership through outdoor experiences, creative expression, and community impact. As a Teen Leadership Camp Counselor, you will mentor campers through leadership workshops, service‑learning projects, outdoor adventures, and collaborative team‑building activities tied to Common Ground’s weekly Earth Camp themes. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working with teens, leading by example, and inspiring confidence, resilience, and personal growth. Prior experience is helpful but not required. Our comprehensive training program will prepare you for success in this rewarding summer role. Position Details Position Type: Seasonal/Full‑Time (Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm) Season: June 8 – August 15, 2026 (10 weeks) Training: June 8–12

• 13.00 - 15.00/hour based upon experience /during Camp Weeks (9 weeks)

Essential Job Functions Supervise and mentor a group of teen campers ages 14–15 during camp hours Monday–Friday. Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages leadership development, teamwork, and personal growth. Facilitate leadership workshops focused on communication, self‑awareness, resilience, emotional intelligence, and collaboration. Lead and support service‑based projects that help maintain and improve camp spaces, trails, habitats, and grounds. Guide campers through outdoor adventures, environmental education activities, and team‑building challenges connected to weekly themes. Encourage creative expression and reflection through journaling, group discussions, and hands‑on activities. Adapt activities to meet the needs, interests, and abilities of campers while maintaining engagement and safety. Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating responsibility, kindness, leadership, and respect. Assist campers with behavioral, emotional, and social challenges using patience and positive guidance techniques. Ensure safe and timely transitions between camp activities and program areas. Participate in daily camp setup, cleanup, and organization of program materials and spaces. Follow and uphold all camp safety procedures, policies, and emergency protocols.
