Overview Registered Nurse (RN) acts as a consistent care coordinator throughout the continuum of care for patients entering or within the health system. The RN assesses the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients, improves the care experience, and ensures communication with providers. The role includes nursing care in a clinical or office setting, patient education, screening, prevention, and follow‑up care. Responsibilities Assesses patients' physical, psychological, and social needs to improve care experience. Creates a seamless flow through the health system to facilitate patient care. Develops and coordinates education, resources, and activities for patients and families. Maintains reliable systems to document, track, and monitor patient data. Performs clinical procedures within scope of nursing practice and clinical training. May perform telephone duties within scope of RN role. Performs other job functions as assigned or requested. Education and Training Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Work Experience Required: Registered Nurse 0-1 year(s). Preferred: Clinical nursing 1-3 years. Licenses and Certifications Required: Basic Life Support – American Heart Association. Required: Registered Nurse, Tennessee – Tennessee Board of Nursing. Preferred: Certification in clinical specialty. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledgeable of system's health resources to navigate patients to appropriate care. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, desire to problem solve, strong conflict resolution abilities. Strong computer skills. Role model in customer service and patient care. Displays sensitivity and compassion. Supervision Provided There are no supervisory roles assigned to this position. Physical Demands Activities may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Requires good balance and coordination. Medium work – exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently. Requires close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision for tasks such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading. Frequent invasive and non‑invasive patient contact. Exposure to patient body fluids and hazardous or poisonous materials. Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
